13.1.6

Configurable CLIP

Definition
The call number specified here is transferred to the called telephone instead of the DID number and displayed on the device. The "Configurable CLIP" system-wide flag must be activated for this.
In an entry is not made in the CLIP column, the DID number is transferred.
Example: In the case of calls by hunt group members, only the hunt group number should be displayed on external devices. The hunt group number must therefore be specified in the CLIP column for all members. The internal call number is displayed within a system or network independent of the CLIP specification.

CLIP/LIN
CLIP and LIN (Location Identification Number; for U.S. only) are mutually exclusive. By default, LIN is activated for the U.S., and CLIP is activated for all other countries. If CLIP is activated for the USA, LIN is automatically disabled.
