| The MCID feature allows malicious callers to be traced (MCID, Malicious Call Identification, DSS1 LM). This feature is activated in the public network (DSS1) and can be used for DSS1 lines (not for CorNet NQ). The caller's station number and name are also stored in the public network. The called station has no direct access to the stored data. You must apply to your public network operator in order to use this feature. Appropriate authorization is required to activate the feature in the public network. The feature can be activated for UP0/E, a/b and S0 lines. When a call is received from the public network, this feature delays call cleardown in the direction of the called party for a specific timeout after the caller has hung up. This timeout provides the called party with an opportunity to activate the feature. However, trunk availability is somewhat reduced as a result since it takes longer until the lines become free again. Cleardown is only delayed if the feature has been requested. The MCID feature only functions for calls from the public network and not for internal calls.
