IP Mobility (Mobile user logon, Mobile HFA)

Applications
 •   Teleworking:
A subscriber uses the same login ID and password at his or her workstations in the office and at home. If a user logs on from home, the IP telephone in the office receives a "non-mobile number". This means that the IP phone can be used by other users.
The teleworking option provides both the One Number Service and access to HiPath telephony features on a fixed telephone at the home office. Apart from any desired analog telephones, optiPoint/OpenStage telephones can also be used as telephones at teleworking stations.
Emergency concept: If the system recognizes that an IP workpoint has failed, a caller can be automatically forwarded to a CFSS target (Call Forwarding Station Out of Service) configured in the system, for example, a fixed-network telephone or cell phone.
 •   Desk sharing (sharing office workstations):
Desk sharing means that subscribers no longer have a permanently assigned office phone. This feature enables several users to share the same office workstation. Users get their personal telephone settings when they register with their login ID. As soon as the user logs off, the telephone automatically logs back on with its own non-mobile profile.
Employees who do not have a fixed desk can reserve a desk and telephone for a specific period. This reservation is made by means of a Web user interface from any PC or by means of a check-in station in the foyer of a DeskSharing area. Employees can book themselves in at their temporarily reserved desk. Check-in takes place either at the check-in station in the foyer of a DeskSharing area or by check by phone from any phone within the DeskSharing area. When employees check in, the properties and features of their home telephone are automatically relocated to the reserved station.
A supervisor can also log a remote user on to a telephone by logging the user on to the associated service for this telephone (hoteling). The supervisor is identified in the system's customer database (CDB). You do not have to explicitly enter the user password for this login operation.

Operating procedure
Activate (mobile user logon) = *9419 + mobile station number + password (password is optional if not configured)
Deactivate (Mobile user logoff) = #9419

Mobile or non-mobile workpoint clients (only for system clients)
The following types (profiles) of system clients are available:
 •   Mobile: This type is a "fictitious" profile. In this profile, the client is not connected with a station. The user must log on via *9419 to an existing non-mobile client (telephone). Thereafter, the user can log off and (if desired) log on at another station.
 •   Non-mobile: This type is the profile set by default. In this profile, the client is connected with a station (PC, telephone).
An external user can use a mobile profile and log on concurrently with the non-mobile client. On the other hand, the non-mobile client can be set as "Mobile blocked", to achieve sole access to the station.

Dependencies/Restrictions

 Subject
 Dependency/Restriction
Minimum number of station ports
The feature is only offered with station port 3 or higher.
"Relocate allowed" system flag
In the HiPath 3000 Manager E, the "Relocate allowed" system flag must be activated (System parameters > Station flags).
Automatic logoff for OpenStage telephones
If an OpenStage telephone has been assigned to a number that was configured as a "mobile" number via its administration menu:
 •   This OpenStage telephone logs on to the system with a mobile profile.
 •   When a user logs on to another, i.e., second OpenStage telephone, the first OpenStage telephone is disconnected from the system. HOWEVER, after 1 minute, the second OpenStage telephone is automatically logged off, and the first OpenStage telephone is logged on to the system once again.
Mobility for OpenStage
For OpenStage telephones, the following mobility options can be set:
 •   Basic
 •   Data Privacy
 •   Data Mobility
These mobility options are described in the OpenStage operating manual.
Transferring key layouts
When using workpoint clients with a different number of function keys, restrictions can occur when transferring key layouts. Example: Home Logon = optiPoint 410 advance (14 programmable keys), Mobile User Logon = optiPoint 410 standard (7 programmable keys).
When using OpenStage telephones and OpenScape Personal Edition there are further restrictions when transferring key layouts.
 •   Example: Home Logon = OpenStage 80, Mobile User Logon = OpenScape Personal Edition
   -   The keys 1 to 4 of OpenScape Personal Edition are assigned with the usual functions (service, redial, microphone, speaker).
   -   The contents of the nine programmable OpenStage 80 keys are transferred to the key 9 - 16 und 18 on the OpenScape Personal Edition.
   -   The keys 5 to 8 of OpenScape Personal Edition are programmable (key 5 can only be programmed with HiPath 3000/5000 Manager E. Keys 6 to 8 can also be programmed using OpenScape Personal Edition.). The contents are maintained when a mobile user logs on or off.
   -   When a mobile user logs on to the OpenStage 80 the original key assignment is restored.
 •   Example: Home Logon = OpenScape Personal Edition, Mobile User Logon = OpenStage 80
   -   The programmable keys of the OpenStage 80 are assigned with the contents from key 9 of OpenScape Personal Edition.
   -   The programmable key 9 of the OpenStage 80 (lower right key) is assigned with the function "Disconnect".
   -   The contents of the keys 5 to 8 of OpenScape Personal Edition are not transferred to the programmable OpenStage 80 keys.
