9.2.2

Software Upgrade

If the software is a version earlier than V3.0, it must first be upgraded to V3.0. Only then is it possible to upgrade the software to V8.
CDB conversion is also necessary.

Procedure: Customer database (CDB) conversion
Please note the following:
S0 stations can be configured as both HFA clients and vCAPI clients in V4.0. In addition, V4.0 does not have a selected gatekeeper board. This configuration will have to be re-defined when upgrading V5.0 (see Fig. 9-12).
The flowchart on Page 9-31 describes the procedure for converting the CDB from V4.0 to V5.0. First, you must edit the V4.0 CDB. Then you must convert the CDB and finally, edit the V5.0 CDB.
No other changes are necessary apart from modifications for IP workpoint clients and IP lines. Only the gatekeeper and gateway data has to be edited. Telephone numbers and other properties of the IP workpoint clients are retained. The protocol has to be modified for the IP lines.
