MMC |
Introduction |
| The MMC (Multi-Media Card) is a plug-in memory card for the central control boards and contains the CDB backup and the relevant version-specific application processor software (APS). |
| Please note that the MMC may only be replaced by an MMC approved by Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co. KG. Cards that have not been approved may have a different internal structure which can affect temporal access and certain features (for example, CDB backup and APS transfer). |
MMC storage capacity |
| • | In HiPath 3000 V5.0 and later systems, MMC storage capacity must be at least 64 MB (MMC64, in V7 also: MMC128, MMC512). An MMC16 (with 16 MB capacity) cannot be used in these systems. |
| • | In HiPath 3000 V8 and later systems, MMC storage capacity must be at least 128 MB (MMC128, MMC512). An MMC64 cannot be used in these systems. HiPath 3000 communication systems with MMC64 cannot be upgraded to HiPath 3000 V8 due the greater storage requirement for the V8 software. |
| When the system starts, the MMC is checked automatically. If an MMC with insufficient storage capacity is detected in place of the correct MMC, the startup process is cancelled. |
