IP Mobility (Mobile user logon, Mobile HFA)

Fields of application
 •   Teleworking:
A subscriber uses the same login ID and password at his or her workstations in the office and at home. If a user logs on from home, the IP telephone in the office receives a "non-mobile number". This means that the IP phone can be used by other users.
Emergency concept: If the system recognizes that an IP workpoint has failed, a caller can be automatically forwarded to a CFSS target (Call Forwarding Station Out of Service) configured in the system, for example, a fixed-network telephone or cell phone.
 •   Desk sharing (sharing office workstations):
Desk sharing means that subscribers no longer have a permanently assigned office phone. This feature enables several users to share the same office workstation. Users get their personal telephone settings when they register with their login ID. As soon as the user logs off , the telephone automatically logs back on with its own non-mobile profile.
A supervisor can also log a remote user on to a telephone by logging the user on to the associated service for this telephone (hoteling). The supervisor is identified in the system's customer database (CDB). He does not have to explicitly enter the user password for this login operation.

Operating procedure
Activate (Mobile user logon) = *9419 + mobile station number + password (password is optional if not configured)
Deactivate (Mobile user logoff) = #9419

Mobile or non-mobile Workpoint Clients (only for system clients)
There are the following types (profiles) of system clients:
 •   mobile: This type is a "fictitious" profile. In this profile, the client does not correspond to a device. The user has to login using *9419 on an already existing non-mobile client (device). Later, the user can logout and can use (if requested) another device to login.
 •   non-mobile: This type is the "by default" set profile. In this profile, the client corresponds to a device (PC, telephone ...).
An external user can use a mobile client profile and login on top of the non-mobile client. Otherwise, the non-mobile client can be set up to "mobile blocked" in order to achieve exclusivity over the device.

Dependencies/restrictions

 Subject
 Dependency/Restriction
Minimum number of station ports
The feature is only offered with station port 3 or higher.
System flag "Relocate allowed"
The "Relocate allowed" system flag must be activated using HiPath 3000 Manager E (System parameters > Flags).
Automatic logout of OpenStage devices
If someone assigns -from the phone administration menu- the OpenStage device to a number configured as being mobile:
 •   This OpenStage device will register to the system with a "mobile" profile.
 •   If a user logs in to another (second) OpenStage device, the first OpenStage device will be disconnected from the system. BUT after 1 minute, automatically the second OpenStage device logs out and the first OpenStage device gets connected back.
Mobility for OpenStage
For OpenStage devices, the following different kinds of mobility can be set up:
 •   Basic
 •   Data Privacy
 •   Data Mobility
These kinds of mobility are explained in the OpenStage manual.
Transferring key layouts
When using workpoint clients with a different number of function keys, restrictions can occur when transferring key layouts. Example: Home Logon = optiPoint 410 advance (14 programmable keys), Mobile User Logon = optiPoint 410 standard (7 programmable keys).
When using OpenStage telephones and OpenScape Personal Edition there are further restrictions when transferring key layouts.
 •   Example: Home Logon = OpenStage 80, Mobile User Logon = OpenScape Personal Edition
   -   The keys 1 to 4 of OpenScape Personal Edition are assigned with the usual functions (service, redial, microphone, speaker).
   -   The contents of the nine programmable OpenStage 80 keys are transferred to the keys 9 to 16 and 18 on the OpenScape Personal Edition.
   -   The keys 5 to 8 of OpenScape Personal Edition are programmable (key 5 can only be programmed with HiPath 3000/5000 Manager E. Keys 6 to 8 can also be programmed using OpenScape Personal Edition.). The contents are maintained when a mobile user logs on or off.
   -   When a mobile user logs on to the OpenStage 80 the original key assignment is restored.
 •   Example: Home Logon = OpenScape Personal Edition, Mobile User Logon = OpenStage 80
   -   The programmable keys of the OpenStage 80 are assigned with the contents from key 9 of OpenScape Personal Edition.
   -   The programmable key 9 of the OpenStage 80 (lower right key) is assigned with the function "Disconnect".
   -   The contents of the keys 5 to 8 of OpenScape Personal Edition are not transferred to the programmable OpenStage 80 keys.
